As a child I remember the excitement of believing that magic was real. When the
magician made the woman disappear, I truly went home thinking that she really did. Magic
seemed so believable, but as time went by, I soon realized that there were tricks to all
of it. Dieting is no different. We truly want to believe that the claims
about quick fix dieting are real. But the truth is that The Dieting Industry is a
billion dollar one, and advertising claims are making a lot of money tricking us with
these kind of falsified ads.
More alarming than that is the fact that our metabolism and health is being destroyed
in the process.
Watch out for these magical fad diets:
Diets that claim that certain types of foods or supplements will magically burn body
fat.
Example: This magical food will burn fat from your
thighs
"Wouldnt this be nice?"
A diet that only allows you to eat certain types of food.
Example: Eat cabbage soup and diet no more.
"How long can you possibly continue to eat like this?"
Diets that make you eat only at certain times of the day.
Example: Eat before 3:00 p.m., and watch the pounds
shed off!
"Eat before 3:00, and watch the refrigerator tilt by midnight!"
Diets that make the claim that you can lose more than 2 pounds per week..
Example: Lose up to 5 pounds the first week!
"Lose 5 pounds of what, water!"
A diet that says that you do not have to exercise.
Example: Lose fat while you are sleeping!
"We all want to believe this one!"
A diet that sounds to good to be true!.
Example: Eat cookies and watch the weight shed off!
"If this is the case, give me 2 dozen chocolate chips!"
Stop falling for magical fad diets. They are eating away nothing except your
pocketbooks!
